Last night I kept hearing  aloud chirping but it didn't sound like a cricket.   As I wandered through the house it would stop and then start again as I lay down to try and fall asleep.  This morning while cleaning the windows, when I opened the door to clean the glass I found the source of my midnight caller.  She must have been trying to get out.  The kids and I put her on a leaf and took her to the tree lined area in the front yard.  Evan thought she resembled an alien, he's kind of right.

New talents....

Yesterday the weather was pretty yucky so we decided to go to The Mad Platter and paint some pottery. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of patience both kids had while working over 2 hours on their masterpieces.  Today the kids decided to make balloon animals.  It was a lot of fun, Aud really got into it.  Evan would blow up the balloons for her and she did the creating.  We tried to spend as much time as we could outside most of the day today as it is the last warm day for a little while.  The kids went bike riding and then hung out in the back yard for a few hours.  It always amazes me how they never seem to run out of things to play or make believe in the backyard.  Today it was Audrey's magical leaf kingdom and Evan's WWII battlefield all at the same time.  Who would have ever guessed those two places could co-exist.

Busy Busy.....

It was a busy week for the kids and me this past week.  I helped with the Book Fair at school which is a big fundraiser for our school.  I was there all week from 7:00am until 3:00pm.  Made me wonder how all those working moms do it all the time.  Both kids had a field trip on Friday.  Since I went to Audrey's last field trip, it was Evan's turn to have me around.  We spent the day at Town Creek Indian Mound.  I never even knew this place was so close to here (about 1 1/2 hours away).  So much interesting history about the Native Americans that lived in this area of the country for so long.  Today the boys left for their yearly cub scout camp out.  I have been kept up to date with pictures that John has so kindly been texting to me.  They have such a great time at this thing.  As for us girls, we are enjoying the quiet and each other.  We don't get a lot of this one on one time anymore.

First Field Trip

Audrey's Kindergarten class had their first field trip today to the Fire Safety Facility.  It was a fun time.  I enjoyed having Aud and her friends in the car for the ride to and from the station.

Feeling the season.

Waking up to thunderstorms, a cold rain and 40 degrees sure is a way to shock you into realizing it is fall outside.  What to do on a day like this....... well, the boys built our first fire of the season while I whipped up some Salt Dough for the kids to cut and paint.  Lots of fun....
