Just a few......

Here are a variety of pictures from the last week.  Been busy but hoping to slow down a bit and start taking "real" pictures again. 

Evan has started in a Par 3 golf league that he absolutely loves.  It is giving him the confidence and competition he needs to get ready to play for our Middle School team next year (fingers crossed).  He also got to go dove hunting, shooting and fishing with John on Labor Day and again this weekend.  He truly loves to shoot and we are still looking for a local Junior Shooting League but have not yet found one close enough.

Audrey took her first piano lesson (no picture yet) and loved it.  She learned a couple of short songs that she loves to practice and sing along.  We have started doing her homework at the park while the weather is still nice.  She started having spelling tests this year and here is her first practice (we keep her practice in a special notebook).  She is a natural!!  Her hermit crabs are thriving and she enjoys giving them their bath on Saturday nights.  Another addition to the family, Jimmy (Grammy's baby), is growing fast and the kids love visiting him after school on Fridays.

First Day of School

Here we go again!  I am so thankful to have two children who can't wait to go to school.  Now what to do all day........

Audrey's big day

It was a big day for Audrey.  She finally got to get her ears pierced.  She has wanted to for a little while but we wanted to make sure she was ready to take care of them.  She got a little nervous when we got to the store so Mommy had to get hers pierced first!  It was fun all around.

Myrtle Beach

We decided to take a last minute three day weekend and go to Myrtle Beach.  Always one of our favorite places to visit.

Sciquarium

The Greensboro Science Center is right around the corner from our house.  I have spent many days there over the last 18 years with both my nephews and my own children.  The center has evolved so much over the last decade.  We are so pleased that they just opened the Sciquarium portion of the facility.  We went today for the first time.  It is a pretty great experience for our little neighborhood.

Webelos Camp and High Dives

Evan and John are off at Webelos Camp for the week.  I have never been away from Evan this long.  John said he is having a blast and the experience is priceless for him.  I keep that in mind.....but usually I just try to keep busy to keep my mind off of him being away.  The highlight of all of this is that Audrey and I have really enjoyed some one on one time.  It has been wonderful.  Yesterday we saw a movie and walked the shops at Friendly. Today we spent the day at the pool with her friend Meisha.

 

On the last day of school Audrey got the Kindergarten Annual "Fun Dip" Award.  Basically it is given to the student that has a love of learning and helping others.   Evan's class finally finished "Treasure Island" the day before the last day of school, so on the last day they were allowed to buck the uniform and dress like pirates.
