Today was the day. Both of the kids started "real" school. It is pretty unbelievable. Very bittersweet. Evan was up at 6:10am already dressed with his backpack on ready to go. I had to wake Audrey up and as soon as I opened her door she popped up and said "mommy, I am so excited". When we arrived at Greensboro Academy, Evan saw a bunch of his friends and ran off with just a backward wave to John and me. We walked Audrey to her Kindergarten class. She went right in, said good morning to her teacher and started coloring a picture. A quick hug and I was out the door. Several tears later (from me) I was home to my quiet house.......... I think I can get used to this =)

Fashion Show
Grammy crocheted some dresses and accessories for Audrey's dolls. Aud was thrilled to add the new items to her American Girl doll's collection. She had just inherited some stuff from a family friend as well so she decided to put on a fashion show. She said I HAD to take pictures for Laney's (her AG doll) portfolio. Nice.

Flip
Evan has really worked hard this summer working on his diving and flips. He is now confident enough to flip with (what he calls) "the masters" at our pool.

Lava Lamps
Evan and Audrey made lava lamps today. They had a lot of fun making them and showing them off. Audrey also drew a picture of the scene. It was a good time.

Fort Ontario
There is a lot of history in Oswego. One of our favorite places we visit each time we go is Fort Ontario. The kids (and us) love to run through the hidden tunnels and walk through the old houses. They have reanactments while we are there and Evan loves when they fire the cannon. We got a special treat when we visited because they were flying model airplanes down below. They invited the kids down to have a try. They loved it!
More shots from NY...
Here are some random shots taken on our trip. The kids and Gramma Jamma made a daily treck to the lake to collect rocks each day (sometimes twice a day). They painted the rocks (as did Aunt Bean) to make display flowers in Gramma Jamma's yard. The flowers turned out wonderful.
